Hi!
I'm Cheri Rol. I was born and raised in California. Art has been an important
part of my life right from the beginning. My family surrounded me while growing
up with a variety of art and music. I attended university with a major
in education and a minor in art. My studies were interrupted while raising my
four children. Then I was introduced to Decorative Painting by a neighbour that
knew I needed to get out of the house. It was love at first brush stroke. Decorative
Painting combined my teaching skills and my love of art. I've won Best
of Show at the Columbus Ohio Decorative Arts Show twice, and People's Choice at
the Yosemite Western Artists show. As a member of the Society of Decorative
Painters, I earned first my Certified Decorative Artist Degree in 1985, the Floral
portion of the Masters in 1993, the Stroke portion of the Master in 1995, and
the final portion , the Stillife in 1997. At that time becoming one of 54 Master
Decorative Artists with the Society of Decorative Painters. I travel
teach all across the United States and in Canada, Argentina and Japan.
I am teaching my home workshops in the town of Corydon, Indiana, just 35 min. from Louiseville, Ky, and offer workings
there throughout the year. P.S.
My thanks go to Larry, Rachel, Michelle, Becky, and John for keeping my life out
of a rut and for allowing me to do what I do best. Thanks to Mom and Dad too,
for making art and music an important part of my upbringing. I send hugs
and kisses to my 5 grandchildren, Kelsey, Lane, Kirsten, Shayla, and Alicia who
are making it imperative for me to focus on portrait painting in the near future.
